He made the remarks on Thursday when presiding over a provincial leading group meeting on the promotion of the Belt and Road construction. Governor Xu Kunlin attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the initiative of jointly building "the Belt and Road", said a statement released after the meeting, adding that over the past decade, under the General Secretary"s personal planning, deployment and promotion, the joint construction of "the Belt and Road" has become a popular international public product and international cooperation platform so as to have opened up a new path to promote economic globalization, and injected strong impetus into the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Over the past decade, Jiangsu has made every effort to implement the "Five Major Plans" of "the Belt and Road" construction, gradually build an international comprehensive transportation system, continuously deepen international production capacity cooperation, promote closer trade ties along the Silk Road, promote the construction of cooperation parks, highlight the brand characteristics of cultural exchanges, and achieve remarkable results in jointly building "the Belt and Road",said the statement.

Jiangsu is not only the intersection of "the Belt and Road", but also the intersection of the domestic and international economic cycle, making it necessary for the province to take high standards, sustainability, and people"s well-being as the goal, plan and promote the work of the next stage, better serve the new development pattern, and promote high-quality development, the statement said.

Jiangsu is committed to creating a number of influential landmark achievements, comprehensively enhance the demonstration and leading role, promote the implementation of a number of livelihood projects, and constantly enhance the sense of gain and identity of the people of countries along “the Belt and Road”, according to the statement.

Efforts must be made to actively serve the country’s overall diplomatic situation, promote the construction of cooperation platforms such as the Sihanoukville Port Special Zone in Cambodia, the China-UAE Production Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Park, the China Kazakhstan Lianyungang Logistics Cooperation Base, and the China South Korea Yancheng Industrial Park for more cooperation achievements, said the statement.

The province will make every effort to strengthen the opening and cooperation of the industrial chain and supply chain, do everything possible to expand trade scale, optimize the layout of cooperative investment, make greater efforts to stabilize foreign trade and foreign capital, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in an all-round way, focus on scientific and technological innovation, digital economy, green and low-carbon development, intellectual property protection and education, health, culture, tourism and other fields, and promote the effective flow of people, logistics, information flow so as to form a diverse and interactive people-to-people exchange pattern, the statement said.

At the same time, it is necessary to comprehensively strengthen risk prevention and control, standardize overseas business operations of enterprises, and further coordinate development and safety, said the statement.
